The two guests who came through the door that day are lovers who were about to enter into marriage. As they entered the door, their romance filled the ambience with pink bubbles. They were polite, modest, and smiling, asking to see the lab diamond ring collection, and gazing affectionately at each other as if there is nothing else in the universe. Good heavens, we ate a lot of dog food that day! （in Chinese meaning, we are the *single dogs)
Their visit stayed in my memory because not only did they consider ear clipping ear rings for their wedding, they also wanted to look at our diamond ring series. I was a bit surprised because I always thought wedding rings would be fitted with natural diamonds. Isn't that so? And what we provided was lab diamonds, environmentally friendly and inexpensive. The ladies who bought them would use them for daily decoration. So it was a bit unexpected when someone considered them for use in a wedding.
This couple was refreshingly different though. They didn't need gorgeous ceremonies, grand wedding banquets, or elaborate arrangements. They only needed a heart that loved each other and the blessings of family members. It didn't matter whether the diamond worn was a natural diamond or a laboratory diamond.
Simple, unpretentious, but rich in other forms of passions in life.
Amazingly, they had been together for 10 years, yet they were still deeply in love. This was the kind of love that so many people would envied. It was evident that nothing could separate them.
The years that they had spent together must have been worthy of a drama script. I could see them as somewhat shy and awkward at the beginning, and now their relationship had fully blossomed into secure happiness, and a sweet flowing stream that would reach eternity. As in the song lyrics, "Green tiles, red bricks, willows, and moss have remained until now" suits them so well.
We would continue to wish them harmony and happiness; and silently prayed that their love for each other would grow as the ages pass.
